A woman who has nothing, Delia Woodson is desperate. That’s why she agrees to it. Because she’s a painter, no one is buying her paintings, and she’s desperate. She has bills to pay, food to buy. Someday she might actually want to live in her own apartment instead of on her friend's couch. And all she has to do is paint baby-faced angels on an indecently rich, corporate shill’s ceiling. Because, he just can’t think of any other way to spend his money? And she just can’t think of any other way to make it.

A man who wants for nothing, Jack Cabot doesn’t want the mural his mother has commissioned for his office ceiling. He doesn’t want the distraction, he doesn’t want the silliness. He doesn’t want the artist now spending her days ten feet above his head. The artist with paint in her hair, distracting him. Bickering with him. Amusing him, until… Jack discovers he does want something after all.

Some Like It Perfect It Only Temporary Book 3 edition by Megan Bryce Contemporary Romance eBooks

Sweet, cute, humorous... Now for the annoying parts: the first 1/3 of the book was 'he smiled' or 'he was begining to smile' or 'he was about to smile' and EVERY TIME he did, she says 'don't' or 'stop that', because it made him 'beautiful' and she didn't want to like him. Moving on to the 2/3 of the book, here's my dilemma: there are two other couples, one married couple, the other couple not. Still not sure why the author felt the need to 'cram' all of them into one book. I began to skim thru the other characters, as the story was becoming too 'wordy' for me. Eyes wanting to glaze over, mind starting to wander, and wondering where the plot went, 'wordy'. The last of the book, what do you know, conflict, past relationship problems, wanting to be together 'but it just won't work', and finally the 'H' has to convince the 'h' just how 'wrong it's right' that they be together...somewhat exhausting. Oh, and there was one character that went by 3 different names. A given name, a nickname, and then she decided to give herself an entirely different name...There were paragraphs in this book I had to re-read 2 or 3 times because I couldn't keep up with the names.

Some Like It Perfect It Only Temporary Book 3 edition by Megan Bryce Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

This is my first book that I've read by Megan Bryce, but it definitely won't be the last! In fact, I had read this book some months ago, but hadn't written a review. I opened it up to see if I remembered it (I did), but got engrossed in the story again. I enjoyed it just as much the 2nd time around!

Delia, the heroine, is a starving artist who accepts a commission from Jack's, the hero's, mother to paint the ceiling of Jack's office. Jack is from a wealthy well known family, but hasn't yet found anyone with whom he wants to share his life. And then, Delia starts painting the ceiling of his office ...

Jack's teenage sister, Augusta Summer, adds some comic relief to the story, as well as adding an element of teenage angst. She and Delia share an apartment for a while. Other secondary characters, Delia's best friend Justine and her boyfriend Paul, as well as Paul's sister Karen and her husband Steve, add depth and greater understanding to the story.

This is a slow, well developed love story that is a delight to read. You won't find graphic sex scenes and anything more than mild swearing in this book, which is a welcome change of pace compared to so many other love stories in this day and age. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a love story instead of a sex orgy. I'm so looking forward to the next book I read by Ms. Bryce.
Some Like It Perfect - PG13/R
Violence none
Language <25 swears, including deity and an FBomb
Sex uh, yes, technically, but you'd need to read carefully to figure it out.

This is the third in a series, but I haven't read the other two.

The main storyline is a lovely story--similar to *Pride and Prejudice*; a little "Dharma and Greg" and a lot opposites attract in a very organic way. Super interesting heroine. There's a secondary line about a couple that kind of forces their togetherness. It made an interesting contrast to the two HEAs.
It was an OK read, but could have been a better read if there was more character development. The heroine was just a little too juvenile and the hero was one-dimensional. I definitely did not see them as a love match, more of an "I'm here you're here, let me focus on you" match. There was also too many sub stories playing around the main characters and even they were not well-developed characters. I did not fall in love with any of the characters.
"Some Like It Hot", is a modern love story that seems to be all about expectations...Delia, artist and child of parents who still live in a commune, believes minimalism will protect her heart. (don't expect or want much) She fell in love at 18, married and was left with "ashes" after the fire burned out. Her lifetime friend and total opposite, Justine, is a never been married accountant and is dating Paul, a lawyer. They are compatible, but at 36 her biological clock is ticking loudly. Paul is content with the status quo though he does want marriage and children someday. Jack, 40, an extremely rich, and very handsome businessman spent the last 20 years being the backbone of his socially elite family, having essentially raised his baby sister Augustine, and supported his mother through extended mourning periods over two dead husbands, and is now approaching midlife crisis. He's not happy but sure of at least one thing, he has no interest in Diane, the woman his mother has picked out for him to marry. Catherine, his mother hires an artist to paint cherubs and clouds on the ceiling of his office which Delia agrees to do only because she desperately needs the money. Jack allows it to avoid contention with Catherine, who seems to have little purpose in life except to manage Jack and Augustine's (Gus) life. Jack and Delia begin one of those love-hate relationships but as Delia makes friends with Gus and helps Jack understand her need for more freedom, they too come to more of an understanding. Delia firmly believes that Jack is way out of her league and doesn't want to be hurt again so she continues to ward off his advances. Jack believes that he will never be happy without Delia. Everyone's desires and expectations seem to be at odds with the other's. Ms. Bryce brings all the pieces in her people puzzle together in a satisfactory manner, leaving readers empathetic to most of her flawed characters who are likely to be reminiscent of people around them. "Some Like It Perfect" is a romance novel that seems a bit meatier with more realistic characters than many in the genre and yet is not without its humorous moments. This book would probably appeal mostly to adult females and I would not recommend it for less mature readers due to its adult themes and scenes.
I can't really decide if it was good or not. It definitely wasn't a book filled with sex. Far from it actually. Rich guy meets poor girl and they end up falling in love in a weird sort of way.
